We are often taught by social media to pursue the truth, but what is the truth? What are humans really pursuing now, the truth or the post-truth?
We are all criticizing fan culture, but we are also starting to learn about fan culture, and then it's everywhere. Let's all think about it ourselves, what is the difference between the current atmosphere of discussion and fan culture? There is no difference. I don't know if you have noticed, but in any event that occurs in the current environment, whether it's celebrity gossip, social hot topics, or gender conflicts, different opinions quickly emerge, and then people with different opinions start forming groups and taking sides. Then preconceived conclusions are made, and clues are sought based on those conclusions. Then labels are attached to people with different viewpoints, and what follows is insults, doxxing, digging up someone's dark history, labeling, personal attacks, and reporting. The people on each side of the argument start insulting, attacking, and reporting each other. Many times, the cause of the matter is often a normal event, and in many cases, the overall opinions of both sides are the same, but disputes arise because of a lack of recognition of a common consensus. However, under the influence of the environment, the situation becomes increasingly murky and deteriorates. In the current environment, no one wants to reason anymore. No one wants to reason, everyone wants to defeat the other side. Reasoning is useless now, in this state, those who try to reason are the first to die, as soon as you attempt to reason, all kinds of ridicule come, "Why are you pretending to be a middleman of reason?" Also, let me say one more thing, everyone is actually Schrödinger's reasoner, launching a fierce attack on Topic A, being a middleman of reason on Topic B, and fanning the flames on Topic C. Clearly, we are now in a post-truth era. What is post-truth? "Post-truth" refers to the process in which personal emotions and opinions have a greater influence than objective facts in the formation of public opinion, thus surpassing the truth itself. Keyes (2004) believes that post-truth is an "ethical gray area." Between truth and lies, there exists a fuzzy, ambiguous statement - some call it an amplified truth (Enhanced Truth), or artificial truth (Faux Truth), diluted truth (Truth lite). In short, it is a truth that falls short of being a lie. In the concept of liberalism that has always prevailed, "facts and truth" have always held a sacred position, and this trend can be fully reflected in certain mainstream media that imitate Western media. However, in today's society with a developed internet, "facts" are gradually losing the power to dominate social consensus, and they are no longer the core of news reporting, but are giving way to emotions, opinions, and positions.
Because of this, in order to have a more comprehensive understanding of this world, I must try to expand my knowledge, delve into essential fields, and have at least basic knowledge in other common fields. The more interdisciplinary knowledge I have, the more I can make relatively objective and rational judgments.
The basis for rational judgment is a sufficient and reliable source of information.
How can we establish ourselves in this world? How do we face this complex world?
